STEAM Fuels Learning

STEAM is an educational approach that focuses on the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math when teaching and working with children. Because children are innately curious and open to learning, the STEAM approach is a natural way for using science to figure out how the world works. With technology, children will not only use computers and the internet but they will also use simple tools to discover the relationships of cause-and-effect. Engineering is the creative application of solving problems; using engaging materials to design, build and test solutions, to understand how things work. Art is important to develop a creative mind in children who will be given opportunities to create and innovate. Math involves numbers, patterns, measurement and shapes, important for developing abstract thinking.
